Built in the 1850s by a shipping merchant, the elegant French Colonial style house was in deep decay by the time Ernest and Pauline purchased it in 1931. Pauline convinced her uncle to buy the house as a wedding gift for the couple. Pauline oversaw a complete renovation and incorporated unique French cement
